Would you like to be a lunch supervisor? Montclair P.S. is Hiring!

Lunchroom supervisors support students to provide lunch break supervision on a daily or supply basis. The hours are from 10:25 am - 11:25 am and/or 12:45 pm - 1:45 pm.

Who can be a lunchroom supervisor? What qualifications do you need?

We are looking for lunchroom supervisors with the following skills and qualities:

  • experience working with children

  • ability to ensure the safety and security of students

  • ability to communicate with staff, students and parents

  • willingness to work with students with different needs and capabilities

  • ability to work with students with different cultural and language backgrounds

  • ability to work as a team player

  • proven record of attendance and punctuality

  • demonstrated commitment to working in a diverse school community and/or work environment​

What will lunchroom supervisors do?

As a lunchroom supervisor, you will ensure the safety and security of students by providing supervision in the classrooms and/or outdoors during lunch breaks.​

What are the benefits of being a lunchroom supervisor?

As a lunchroom supervisor, you will earn $14.35 an hour plus a minimum of 4% vacation pay.​

How can you apply?

Applicants should submit a cover letter and resume to outlining why you would like to be a lunchroom supervisor, your experience and/or your interest in working with children. You will also be required to provide two supervisory references.

We appreciate the interest of all applicants, but will only be interviewing candidates whose skills, experience and qualifications best meet the requirements of the position.​

Criminal Record Check

For the safety of students, successful candidates will be required to submit a satisfactory criminal record check prior to the commencement of any employment duties.

Kindergarten Registration for 2021-2022 is now open!

Parents may register children turning four before December 31, 2021.

To register, you must complete a registration form STUDENT REGISTRATION FORM and email the form along with the scanned documents listed below to

  1. Proof of child’s age - original birth certificate or passport or baptismal/faith document

  2. Proof of address (2 pieces) - property tax bill, lease agreement, utility bill, bank statement, etc.

  3. Proof of child’s citizenship - Birth Certificate or Passport, Record of Landing (IMM1000), or Permanent Resident card

  4. Proof of custody - if you are not the child’s parent and the child is under 18, you must provide proof of custody (court order)
